Most Disliked
Despite great food and service, some visitors mention that food preparation can take longer during peak times. It’s wise to call ahead during busy hours, especially on Fridays when the restaurant runs at full capacity. A few patrons have experienced minor hiccups with order accuracy, particularly regarding payment processing and attentive service. This could be due to the hustle and bustle of the restaurant during busy times.
While the overall vibe remains positive, a handful of diners expressed a desire for more variety in flavors, specifically critiquing the steak for lacking seasoning. Nonetheless, the restaurant works hard to keep diners satisfied, and most issues reported seem to be minor and easily rectified.

The food for the price was astonishing. The beans were excellent my five year you doesn't like beans ate my whole side hehehe. The cheeseburger was huge the tortas or sandwiches were satisfying However there was a wait on the food but it was completely worth it! I advice to call ahead so when you come in the food is ready! Other then that it's the perfect place to eat cubanas order it with rice and beans totally recommend it 100%!

Food was phenomenal, we got the carne en su jugo and three tortas everything was very good and well made, fresh meats and bread. Service was a little spotty, server wasn't too attentive and when we were checking out they ran my friends card and he was charged three times (which they refunded so we'll see) aside from that I'll definitely be coming back.

This place is life-changing - super nice staff, huge portions and incredible quality for the price. They made the best pollo en mole (mole chicken) torta I've ever eaten. The torta cubana was also fantastic. Definitely also try the cafe de olla (sweet cinnamon coffee). We will be back many times.

Generous portions, you might be able to have one meal for two. Very nice employees too, it looked family run. Very tasty 😋

For the price, the food is really good and the amount of food is very generous. The torta is very good, especially the bread. The bread is my favorite I’ve had in a torta though I think the asada could have a bit more flavor. Overall I rate the torta a 4/5 but the overall experience a 5/5 especially for the price. Also the beans and rice are amazing, probably the best I’ve had.

Excellent cemitas, we had a carnitas and veggie one and loved both. Friendly and helpful staff. Huge menu with lots of specialty options, very tasty homemade food, everything made to order. Hidden gem in Albany Park.

**update 2025** - El primo still makes amazing tortas. **Review from 2014** - Torteria San Lenchito is a great spot for tortas ( sandwiches). The menu affords a sandwich for whatever you may be craving. Steak, chicken, pork. I am a big fan of their torta Philly Steak, which is a delicious take on a Philly cheese steak sandwich. I intend to try them all!
